Beads and Gold

Friday, October 10, 2008 0 comments
One of my favorite fashion accessories are jewelry. But specifically bracelets because I love to pile on thin bangles, string bracelets, and wooden beads to create a slightly boho-chic look to any outfit I'm wearing. One of my favorite bracelet designs are by Orka Mesica. If this name is familiar with you, then I'm not surprised. If not, then maybe you've already seen some of her designs but just didn't know it! Her Hollywood clients love piling on her beaded bracelets decorated with 14K gold rings. Her most popular item at the moment seems to be her friendship bracelet for $125 (which can be seen on celebrities such as Lauren Conrad).

Here a couple bracelets that caught my eye:

Drab: Logo Overexposure

Thursday, October 9, 2008 0 comments
Everyone loves a good designer item. Especially if it's Chanel, for me anyways. But one thing that will always bug me is blaringly, obvious designer logos. Yes, designers do this on purpose to get their brand out there, which I completely understand. But if you're going to be carrying around an item that has as big of a logo as those two red C's on Ashley Tisdale's bag, then you should keep everything else down to a minimum. But no, she decided that she wasn't doing enough advertising so she decided to add the very apparent necklace too. If you can see it from these pictures, then it's too big/obvious! If you don't keep up with these DC stars, then you don't know that Tisdale is known for her flashy designer bags while out and about, on her daily trips to the Coffee Bean.

Don't make this mistake folks! No matter how much you love an item, keep the backward C's and the LV patterns on just one item in your outfit.

A tear jerker

Sorry if my title is a bit too "trying-too-hard-to-be-funny". It miraculously popped into my head and I had to check first if I had merely just remembered someone else's title.

Anyways, apparently these contact lenses are made so you can hang decorative wires adorned with crystals and flowers from them. So basically it looks like you're crying shiny crystals, but hey -- you're not. And they cost about £200 at the designer's online store.

I don't know about you, but I say no.

Scarfs are your best friend

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 0 comments
Hey ST readers! I'm a new addition to the team, and if you haven't noticed I've revamped the layout to this one. I think it's a lot cleaner, unique, and definitely fits the theme of our site.

For my first post, I'll make a tribute to one of my favorite accessories: scarfs. Unfortunately, it's not cold enough in my area to wear cardigans, let alone scarfs. But I'm sure for most of you, who live in more normal parts of the world, are already getting ready for the cold weather by bundling up. The best thing about scarfs are that they are totally functional, but can also turn an outfit from drab to fab! You can be wearing an all black outfit, but all you have to do is add a bright, yellow scarf and voilà -- instantly chic.

Here are a couple cute ones I've found browsing the net:

(On the left): Urban Outfitter's Buffalo Plaid Scarf $28.00. (On the right): Juicy Couture's Logo Triangle Scarf $95.00.

New Target designer

Saturday, May 24, 2008 0 comments
If you guys didn't know already, Target has a new international designer: Rogan Gregory. I have to admit ever since they've been incorporating new and up-coming designers to their clothing line, they have definitely attracted many fashionistas. But out of all the designers this has to be my personal favorite since I am a huge fan of animal prints (when they're done right. We're not talking about Heidiwood here).

The best part is the prices. These pieces go for as low as $17 and $40. View his whole collection at Target.com.

Fab: Ruffles and more

Each of Natalie Portman's outfits for the past few events have been all about the ruffles. But this one has to be the most beautiful one she's worn. On her petite frame, this Givenchy dress is an excellent choice.
