You want your curls to be loose. The looser and bigger the curls, the cuter you will look. Starting with just straight hair, you can use large curlers to get those nice big curls. Once you have them, you can position them in place on top of your head, towards the back. Other looks are more classic, like the French Twist. You have to slick back your hair with gel. Part it on the side and pull the hair down. A prom updo adds an elegant touch to your prom or formal occasion.

All I want for my Birthday is you...

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 0 comments

and the countdown begins... My birthday is in 14 days.

My age will be....ta' ta' ta'... 31!!
Whenever I say I'm 31, everyone does a double take. Ahhh... I think its my baby cheaks that make me look young. I feel young inside, but I still understand the limitations and the benefits of being in my 30's.

My body tells me when it can't go anymore... that goes for partying, working out, or working. My body yells really loud and says " NO MORE ENID". The upside is that Enid listens and complies immediately.

This year I truly came to the understanding that it's not worth it to over stress my mind, body and overall well being. I don't feel like I'm missing out when I decline to do anything.

And my favorite...It's awesome to know what you want in life and just simply go for it, with no regrets, no reservations and 100% ALL IN!!

I'm telling you, the benefits just keep coming as the days go by...

But, Enough about me.... here is my Birthday wish list.

BCBG Max Azria ruffle skirt. I love tu tu-ish skirts all day.
Plaid PJ's from American Eagle. Grandpa sexy!
Cole Haan Village Small Travel with a laptop sleeve. I carry my macbook everywhere!!
Madewell 1937-Biker Boots. I want to wear these boots with the skirt.

Anoname Paris Skinny in the color ash.

Take a tip from the celebs when choosing what’s right for your hair for Prom 2009. Consider your dress and your personal style, get opinions from a stylist or someone else who won’t just tell you what you want to hear, and don’t be afraid to try a few different styles out. Try the dress on with each style, take pictures, then decide which one looks best on you.

Slick and sexy ponytails or buns are always great prom hairstyles. Simply secure you hair in a tight ponytail and you can add curls as bangs, or curl you pony tail to create your 2008 prom updo hairstyles.

Sex and The City II

It's so addicting.... I can't believe the were able to write a second movie. In my opinion they should have left it alone and as is. But then again, who asked for my two cents?

After watching the trailer that begins with the New- New York City anthem...

(One hand in the air for the big city,
Street lights, big dreams all looking pretty....)

I was Carried Away...

May 28, 2010

(....Concrete jungle where dreams are made of,
Theres nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,
These streets will make you feel brand new,
The lights will inspire you,
Lets here it for New York, New York, New York...)

FASHIONISTA UNIVERSITY...

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 0 comments

Fashionista University, located in 265 West 37th ST, 7th Floor, NY, NY is an amazing new program for teens and gals in their early 20's that has just been launched. (don’t worry, next year adult classes will be added due to popular demand!)

Starting this January 16th, 2010 students will have the opportunity to take a variety of “Saturday’s only”-7 week, hands on courses where they will learn the ins and outs of the fashion business including design, publicity, wardrobe styling/costume design, event planning, jewelry/accessory design and more. Run by fashion designers Kathlin Argiro and Courtney Zellmer and Publicity guru Gwen Wunderlich-Smith. (BEST PART: If you are a teen this program will not interfere with school and if you are in your 20's this program will not interfere with work)

Fashionista University gives students a Project Runway meets Gossip Girl real world approach, with celebrity, editor and guest designer appearances as well as access to fashion shows, showroom events, publishing houses, TV stations and more!

SAMPLE COURSES:

Fashion Design 101

Over the 7-week course students will get a firsthand account of running a small business in the fashion industry from designers Kathlin Argiro and Courtney Zellmer. Students will learn how to create a collection from start to finish- from inspiration to presentation and everything in between using examples from Kathlin’s own collection, high-profile guest speakers, and actually take steps toward creating their own line. Students will learn about fabrics and how to use them, color stories, sketching basic fashion figures, story boards and presenting a collection to learn more about themselves as first time designers.

P.R. Prep 101

Fashionistas who are on top of the latest trends and are interested in being a part of the buzz, glitz and glamour are perfect for this crash course in the exciting field of public relations. Gwen Wunderlich of Wunderlich Inc. will help students begin their journey to becoming the next “it” publicist by sharing her expertise in the field, including her background of starting her own company from the ground up. Throughout the seven weeks, Gwen will introduce different aspects of the business that will help each student develop their PR skills and teach them the necessity of being connected. Students can expect field trips to the city’s hottest spots including a trip to the fashionista holy land – New York Fashion Week.

The Spring Semester featuring additional courses starts March 20th 2010.

I can't wait to take a course!! I would love to take a class Film Styling.

Rent The Runway

Monday, December 21, 2009 0 comments

First Netflix, Then BagBorrowOrSteal, and Now RentTheRunway...

We live in a time where affordable is the name of the game and disposable is how the garments are.
In hindsight, that makes Rent the Runway a great business model with the best adaptation to survive in this economic platform.
Rent the Runway offers designer dresses for as low as $50 dollars and up to $200.
So here is the perfect situation...
I have a wedding/Christmas party/ to go to and nothing to wear...$50 dollars later you can have a dress delivered for the duration of 4 nights, and when you are all done you can place the dress in its prepaid envelope and drop it in the mail. Dry cleaning is included in the price, however damage insurance is another 5 dollars.

In all truth, it works for me. I usually only want to wear a dress once. If it looks fab, everyone will remember it and if it didn't, then I don't ever want to wear it again. Either way... I want the newness of a different dress on a new event, especially, if all it will cost is $50 or $100 dollars. I think $200 dollars is bit too much (for my personal budget).

The downfall for Rent the Runway makes the service available through invitation only.

Luckily my friend just invited me and in turn I was able to send 5 invitations to my friends...not bad..not bad at all.

Now all I need as an invent to go to...
