HAIR BY PANTENE CELEBRITY STYLIST, DANILO

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 0 comments

Pantene sent me this information as a Halloween hair story. But honestly I would do "B" hair all year round if it was this long.

Blair Waldorf (“B”) from Gossip Girl

  1. Start by using the Pantene Pro-V Texture Shampoo and Conditioner to prepare hair for a healthy, textured look
  2. Apply Pantene Pro-V Volume Root Lifter Gel to damp hair from root to tip
  3. Blow-dry hair periodically flipping hair upside down to create maximum fullness at the crown
  4. Wrap large sections of hair around a 1-inch barrel curling iron starting at least 4” from scalp
  5. Remove iron and quickly twist hot section pulling it into a rope-like shape until it cools – this will transform curls into waves
  6. Brush hair out and run fingers through hair to break up the curls for a tousled look
  7. Give hair added texture by adding some small braids and twists throughout hair
  8. Complete the look with a headband, placing it 1-inch away from your hairline
Thank you Pantene Celebrity Stylist, Danilo.

Salwar are pajama-like trousers drawn tightly in at the waist and the ankles. Over the Salwar, women wear a long and loose tunic known as a kameez. One might occasionally come across women wearing a churidar instead of a Salwar. A churidar is similar to the Salwarr but is tighter fitting at the hips, thighs and ankles. Over this, one might wear a collarless or mandarin-collar tunic called a kurta.

Indian fashion sari remains the traditional clothing of Indian women. It is a long piece of flat cotton, silk or other fabric woven in different textures with different patterns. The sari has a lasting charm since it is not cut or tailored for a particular size. This graceful feminine attire can also be worn in several ways and its manner of wearing as well as its color and texture are indicative of the status, age, occupation, region and religion of a woman. The tightly fitted, short blouse worn under a sari is called a choli. The choli evolved as a form of Indian clothing around the tenth century AD and the first cholis were only front covering; the back was always bare.

Sunday, October 18, 2009 0 comments
Scarves are what I like to call the perfect cold weather accessory. (If you've been following this blog from the beginning, then you know that we are scarf whores). This season, instead of opting for classic colors, why not put on an eye-catching, bright scarf around your neck instead? They're perfect for a little mood-lifting and for a pop of color in your outfit.

1) Marley Scarf, $16.90
2) Solden Scarf, $38.00
3) Pond Lily Scarf, $68.00
4) Missoni Zigzag Scarf, $172.00

Football & Lingerie

The Lingerie Football League (LFL) officially kicked off on October 9th.

It launched five years ago as the gentleman's alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show, the Lingerie Bowl is finally, at long last, turning into an official league, complete with 10 teams.

The LFL looks like a '70s roller derby, mixed with the pageantry of the Victoria's Secret runway show and the drama of Rock of Love. Basically, the ladies of the LFL engage in weekly bouts of full-contact, seven-on-seven gridiron football—no field goals, no punts, one linewoman, all action—clad in little more than helmets, shoulder pads and matching undergarments deemed "jerseys."

Check it out for yourself, on Halloweens eve, October 30th the New York Majesty plays its first game against the Philadelphia Passion.

This sweater is so reminiscent of Coco Chanel.
Some people say that the sexiest part of a women's body is their décolleté.
Polka dots, why not?

An extra long cardi with a twist, black and white cheetah print.

This jacket is houndstooth chic with a leather belt and flower.

how-to (styling) BLAZERS AND LEGGINGS LUCKY MAG

Sunday, October 11, 2009 0 comments
Now that Fall, my favorite season of the year is here I'm excited about wearing blazers. I'm even more excited about wearing my blazers with leggings and still looking stylish and comfortable on (let's face it!! ;) a show string budget. Here are the set rules, set by Lucky Mag, my style bible.

putting it together:

  • A structured blazer—shrunken enough to keep the overall silhouette streamlined—elevates typically casual legwear to a whole new level of sophistication.

  • We like full-length (as opposed to cropped) leggings in matte black to give the effect of a skinny pant in an even sexier, more curve-hugging way.

  • To bridge the gap between the lean bottom and the angular top, layer on looser pieces, like a lightweight sweater or silky shirt. They should be long enough to fall prettily over the waistband and give a little coverage to your waist and hips.

  • High-heeled ankle boots complement the look's tough-chic blend.

Audrey Hepburn was a trained ballerina that was too tall to dance professionally. She only turned to acting to "pay the bills". This turned into career where she received 5 Oscar nominations and an Oscar for Roman Holiday. Later on in her career, Audrey was a muse for the designer, Givenchy. Hepburn films at the eponymous jewelry store in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" in 1961, wearing her iconic Holly Golightly ensemble. "My look is attainable," she once said. "Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses."

Audrey is such a great beauty and more importantly she makes being fashionable look easy. She made THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS (LBD) famous. Now, almost every women I know has a LBD. I fell in love with her the moment I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's in the scene where she's searching for Cat in the rain with her trench coat on.

What's not to Love? Enid P.
